De-Stress and Get a Good Night of Sleep Tonight

Relaxing Bath

You have made it through another Monday. Like most Mondays, it was probably a little rough getting out of the bed in the morning. The day probably dragged on and on, and there was nothing to look forward to. The only thing that you were able to do was mourn for your awesome weekend, gone too soon. Well you made it, and now it is time for some well deserved R & R. So put the kids to bed and tell your significant other you will see him in a few, because it is officially Mommy Time. You deserve it!

Give Yourself a Detox Bath

We are exposed to thousands of toxins throughout our day. From the water we drink, to the air we breathe and to the beauty products which we put on our skin. By taking a detox bath we support our bodies natural ability to flush out toxins. It is relaxing, rejuvenating and wonderful for your health.

  • Draw a nice hot bath. Add 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil, to add the relaxing properties of aromatherapy with the therapeutic benefits of essential oils. Always remember with essential oils less is more. You can choose whatever oil you enjoy or whichever oil you feel you will address your symptoms of the day. Not sure which to use? You can try peppermint oil for a pick me up when you are extra fatigued or choose lavender oil if you are overly stressed. Tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil will help in the detoxification process. There are nearly one hundred essential oils to choose from and even more healing properties, so have fun with it. [find quality essential oils here]

  • Add 2 cups of Epsom salts to the water. This will help to draw toxins out of your body.

  • If the water in your bath is not filtered add 1 cup of baking soda to the water which will neutralize the chemical in the water and increase your mineral absorptions.

  • Close your eyes and allow yourself to soak in the water for at least 20 minutes.

  • Use a natural soap without any harsh chemicals as your pores will be open and you will not want to absorb unnecessary chemicals.

  • Likewise when you get out of the bath and dry off moisturize yourself with a natural moisturizer like shea butter, coconut oil or my ghee healing salve (get my recipe here)

  • Do not eat immediately before or after a detox bath.

  • Have a nice glass of filtered water, to hydrate yourself.

This is just a simple idea to help you energize your spirit for the rest of your week. Enjoy the good vibes and maybe grab a good book and curl up under the covers before you go to bed tonight. Sweet dreams.
